Shed of the year 2010 has been announced

Shedtype: [Unique]

Features: See this shed in use here http://www.tyrhos.co.uk .

This shed is a shower and toilet unit for my parents caravan site. It was designed from scratch by myself and built with the help of the family.

The main structure is 3x2 cls with Shiplap cladding and it has a reclaimed welsh slate roof.

The internal and external lighting system is going to be run off of a 12v battery using a 100w DIY wind turbine and the hot water will be run off a Morco gas boiler.

Additional Info:

You can follow the exploits of this sheddie's build here.

What have you lined the shower room with?

Hi daz, the turbine probably cost around ᆪ100 in total, the biggest cost was the motor at ᆪ60 (from the startes) the rest is mostly made out of stuff i had lying around. The turbine charges a 12v battery which in turn powers a 12v water pump for the hot water (cold off mains), the 2 internal lights and the external light which are all using 12v CFL bulbs. Its fairly windly on the site but we had a couple of still days and the toilet, shower was used a lot and the battery voltage dropped too low for the water pump to work so i am think of adding a second battery to the bank to give more amp hours and also adding a solor array to give that extra bit of charge especially when its not windy. Cheers Gareth.

how much did it cost to build the diy wind turbine? could it power a 12V water pump?
