I have installed 2" of insulation in the shed walls and roof, plus space heating, and varnished plywood sheet floors with woven jute floor covering, and concertina window blinds. So, it is snug and warm in the winter, and wonderfully cool in summer. I use it as a modeller's hobby- room and garden office. My wife bought me a comfortable leather swivel chair perfect for cosy afternoon naps. The double doors open onto a shady concrete patio just big enough for a folding chair, and screened with a trellis covered with honeysuckle and jasmine. Perfect to sit peacefully and read a book on balmy summer evenings, with a glass of good malt whisky, or watching the antics of the wild birds and squirrels on the feeders. I have managed to train my two 20+ year-old sons to knock and get permission to enter - though I have so far not achieved the same with my wife!! Though for obvious security reasons I'm careful not to store anything of real value in the (alarmed & double-locked) shed, I can use my laptop there via my domestic wireless router, as well as having a wireless telephone/intercom system and mini-fridge. It's a veritable home- from home, and zone of peace and tranquillity!
