Hi Gary!,yes its hand pumped and no co2. I am luck in that the temperature is always around 13/14 degrees in there during the summer (ideal real ale temperature),I need to warm it up a bit in winter otherwise it would be too cool,I have never found the need to use a cooler . The casks I get hold 36/38 pints and so if I put one on for a few beers and invite a few mates around the beer only lasts a session anyway so its always fresh, although I am told it will last 2/3 days before going off, once I have tapped it. Would certainly recomend getting a hand pump though!,do you have a shed/pub yet?. Check out ebay for a good pump, expect to pay about 70/75 quid. All the best! Brian
