Shed of the year 2010 has been announced

Shedtype: [Cabin/Summerhouse]

Features: Jabba is a 8o year old beach hut who has been rescued from being destroyed by developers and has been sensitively refurbished with great respect to his heritage.

Additional Info: Jabba got his name because of his sheer bulk and the fact that it took so many people to shift him to his new location where he has been lovingly restored using recycled resources wherever possible. Jabba is of a double wood skin construction with many original features. Although it took 5 men to move it, the actual reconstruction in the back garden was completed by the two of us using an ingenious system of ropes and pulleys that the Egyptians would have approved of. As in his previous life, Jabba continues to give pleasure to his many fun loving visitors.

This shed has been viewed 3114 times.

I know Jabba was a beach hut, but I suspect he was never as wet inside as during his many "Christening" parties - looking forward to the next one. Very quirky, very comfortable and like a pet, reflects the personae of his owners!

I eventually succumbed to a National Glazing and Consevatory (Glass Shed)companies barrage of cold call and posal advertising and requested a quotation for a Conservatory/Glass Shed - after all according to them no Planning problems no Building Reg problems no delivery problems no cost problems - virtually free. After a site inspection they asked me - nun too politely to (visit the) Foreign Office. Apparently the fact that I lived in a first floor flat was not a problem to their sales department but an indsurmountable problem for their supply and erect department. Just goes to show you can't believe everything you hear over the phone ! Stick with Jabba the Hut - prior to his present location was last seen messing arpound with a strange guy in a black hood and cloak and a gravel voice in a pub on Poole Quay - creatures from at least three diffent star systems guaranteed every night of the week.

Amazing! You've restored it back to its former glory. Just need the sun, sea and sand or maybe just the sun! Hope its a good summer weatherwise so you can enjoy!

I LOVE JABBA !!!! Jabba has been decorated in a relaxed beach house style. No fancy bar. No internet connection or telly. The furniture is all recycled ( just like Jabba, previously loved by someone else ) The photos and pictures that adorn the walls are all memories of beach holidays. Jabba is little and the perfect size to curl up in on one of the sofas to enjoy the view of the garden . And then.... when its party time , the doors are flung open and Jabba provides the backdrop to fabulous fun parties. This summer house really does live up to its owners expectations !

What a super looking shed. Its nice to see you just have the basic home comforts rather than a duplicating all the amenities of a house.Thats' what its all about really-just a place to crash out in and relax.Looks like you have a nice garden view.
