I built this shed almost entirely with materials that were being thrown away. All the bricks were salvaged from demolition sites and bonded with lime and sharp sand. The door was a skip find and in great condition (terrible what gets thrown out). My personal goal was to build a shed that looked like it had always been in the garden of my 1890s house, and use it to store all those household bits and pieces/fittings/ironmongery I had acquired over the years (usually thrown in skips) along with the garden tools.
I have no building experience whatsoever, so crammed the theory from old reference books bought on eBay, deciding that if I could build a course of bricks each evening after work then it shouldn't take a lifetime to complete!
