Hello my name is Mieko Im 4 and this is my little play house. I think I have already owned about 14 or 15 play houses, but each time I moved my toys in I would get home from nursery and the house would be gone! Once I saw a man loading my house on a trailer and driving away!!! I think mummy was practicing on getting my house just right because mummy says this one is really staying. She always paints them in nice colours and it is really fun to play inside the kitchen she has created. I have a cooker, a fridge, a shabby chic dresser for my tea party china and a sink with a tap. I also have an upstairs for my dollys bed and a really comfy sofa. When mummy & daddy bought this house it was horrible, it had spiders, no windows, no floor and no roof and I watched them replace all the rotten bits, then they asked me what colour I wanted it inside so I said pink which is my favourite colour. My mum created the kitchen from old beside cabinets and cupboards. She made all the curtains herself. Daddy calls mummy the Playhouse Doctor When I ask why he says its because mummy makes poorly playhouses better!
Im very lucky and I think every kid should have a playhouse like mine because they can invite their friends to have a playhouse party.
This project was a labour of love for our little girl that involved no professionals, just her mum, dad, big brother and sister all mucking in to finish it before the closing date of the competition, and it's still work in progress! It was completely restored using recycled & reclaimed materials where possible. Cuprinol shades Country Cream and Seasoned Oak were used for the exterior, Roof is Cuprinol Sea Grass. Interior is Cuprinol Pale Jasmine and Sweet Pea.
