The Chaos shed, or The ShedQuarters, or The Woody Mammoth, Or the Time Machine.. Goes by many names as youve probably gathered. It was a standard 6 by 8 cheap storage shed for one year, but it was way too small for what we had planned for it, I,E turning it into a band practice room. Myself and my bands guitarist built decided to build a huge 8ft extension onto the side. I came up with several blueprints idea of what to do and in September 2009 we started work. Progress was very slow for many reasons, severe lack of money, college work, Manchester lovely weather and general arsing about. Took a while but shes now been standing for three years, and its still not finished.. The outside is but the inside is still not quite finished as there is no carpet down and the roof is only half insulated, but its getting there slowly. Inside is my bands practice room, but the key feature is our bar. Built out of old shipping crates Brians Bar is the best place in Manchester to unwind after a hard day at work. The bar is basked in light from a huge purple skylight on the roof above. The shed has also had the starring role in my college media project in which it was a flying time machine that ends up having a dogfight with a German fighter. Ive put the video in the video of the shed bit. What I love about the ShedQuarters is that after the extension it still looks like a shed, an unusual one but still.
The ShedQuarters was built entirely by me and my friend, who have absolutely no knowledge of wood work or Diy at all. So for that reason its a bit special. It was built by two idiots and it hasnt fallen down, yet. The Giant skylight has been a pain to keep watertight because of its location. I have been working on it all week and I think I have finally fixed the problem. The ShedQuarters was built entirely by me and my friend, who have absolutely no knowledge of wood work or Diy at all.
