Our shed, which we call a garden cottage, was built in 2010 out of a solid oak frame which was based on the traditional medieval hall houses which were famous throughout Kent and East Sussex. I helped my dad Brian Clark build the oak frame, which is carved out of solid oak beams, as well as the other features. Inside we insulated the interior to make it comfortable to work in through both the summer and winter.
We built the shed by hand in about two months from November / December 2009 to February 2010, stopping for Christmas dinner of course. At the moment we use the shed as a place to get away from the day- to-day and paint, do pottery and relax. The grand-children also like to use it to play in when they come down during the holidays.
