When I left school in 1952 I started work as a Cinema Projectionist and I always enjoyed putting on a Professional Show and it was always my ambition to have my own little "CINEMA" one day.
When the time came I designed and tailormaid my Cinema as near as possible to how they used to be in the sixty's.
It has 3 tiered rows of 4 original Cinema seats which my wife recovered and are complete with the original Ashtrays refitted.
THe ten foot screen has motorised masking which can be adjusted within seconds to accomodate any ratio from 4.3 to 16.9, Widescreen and even Cinamascope.
The motorised Curtains which my wife also hand made are complimented with a selection of four colour vairiable footlights and colour controlled overhead pelmet lighting.
The Projection room is fully equipped with 16mm, Super8mm, and Standard8mm Projectors for showing either home movies made on cine films or full feature films, plus there is also a Video Projector installed for showing DVD's and any Television programme or Show available to view on Freeview or SKY Channels. A full Surround Sound System compliments all the presentations.
My wife is "CHIEF USHERETTE" serving Ice creams in the intervals when we have a few friends round for a Show and I run a little "Mini Bar" from my Projection room.
I had the Cabin Built and the outside walls fully sound proofed, all the windows are also Double glazed for extra sound proofing. The interior Decor of the Auditorium is also complimented with padded Walls covered with Fabric so that it looks nice which my very talented and Sewing fanatic wife made and fitted for me. She also had the brilliant idea of covering the ceiling in drapes and pleates to match the Curtains so it looks like an "ALADDINS CAVE" . All the children and visitors that come to our Cinema just love it.
