The Bull and Garter is built with a vision of an American western theme. Built single handed out of sleepers and scaffold planks this build only took a few weeks to build. it has a bar made out of scaffold planks a cosy wood burning fire and an outside toilet made from a metal bucket. The toilet is eco friendly guttering runs along the back of the roof into a water butt above the metal toilet bucket is a tap which you switch on and flushes away. The entrance are swing doors based on an old western saloon inside the doors are old western posters that were printed off the internet.
In 2014 our local pub in Hambrook, Bristol closed after being a family run pub for more than 40 years it was the end of an era. The closure of the pub had a huge impact on the people and the community that used to meet up regularly for a drink, socialise and generally enjoy themselves. We stared loosing touch with the people that drank at the pub which was really upsetting. After several conversation with my husband Billy about a space we had at the back of our garden that we could turn into a small pub we decided to go ahead. This is now a perfect meeting place that our friend to come and visit.
