My sculpture studio/shed is an original World War II officers' mess hut. An elderly neighbour had used it has her studio until 1994. She became too old to use it and had decided to have it torn down on the same day as I began looking for a garden studio/shed.. My husband single-handedly dismantled it and re-erected in our garden five houses away. We already had a stack of railway sleepers which we used for the floor - serendipity! My sculpture really took off - I began making bird's nests and a goat for the garden and then mountain goats based on my childhood experiences on the moors and hills of the North of England where I grew up so through my shed I found my artistic voice One sculpture, the Great God Pan playing his pipes, made of galvanised metal wire, can be seen in the photographs sitting on a tree trunk outside the shed.
It is 15 ft x 12 ft x - two layers of wooden slatted walls on wooden frame. Pitched roof (11 ft at peak). Windows on three sides and roof Electricity for tools etc
