My shed is both my workplace and my refuge! As a freelance technical writer, I work on most projects from 'The Shed', and as a would-be novelist, I sit and plot and try to string a few chapters together.
The shed is in the tiny garden of my tiny cottage. Originally, the brick and flint building was a wash-house and the old 'copper' is still in situ. The building is actually a half-circle, which makes furniture a little tricky to place!
When I bought the cottage, the shed was in need of some TLC - the previous owner used it to house his prized Harley Davidson and not much else. With a new roof, new doors and a lick of paint, it was transformed. The name was given by an old friend - it just sort of stuck.
