Grannies Shed

This shed belongs to our neighbours grannie. It must be 150 years old. The wood is predominantly Akac - a very dense and rot-proof wood, which is so hard that it's impossible to drive a nail into it. This structure appears to have grown over time, with extensions to the sides being added. The far extension is a fairly substantial peice, made from mud bricks. Note the distorted roof, due to the collapse and repair of it's internal structure. The inhabitants of Hungaristan are usally quite short, which explains why all the doors seem to be very small.

There's lots more sheds like this were we live. They have a certain rustic charm, and are a tribute to the inventiveness of the Hungarians
