Project Belverdere

More than £1000

It never fails to inspire each morning when opening the bedroom curtains. As well as a thing of beauty it can be used for many things i.e. working from home office, craft room, art room or for my preference listening to my favourite music. Turn down the volume, open the doors and windows and listen to the sounds of nature.

The concept came about when visiting friends in Derbyshire around Christmas time in 2003. After seeing their new handcrafted potting shed my wife who is a keen gardener and florist asked if she could have one. And so the challenge began. Timbers old and new as well as other materials were sought and amassed over the next 4 to 5 months ready for an early summer start 'cutting the first sod'. In the May of 2003 there was one thing missing? We were sitting by our front door, glass in hand on a warm evening watching the sun go down, when my wife Carol said " What's this potting she'd going to look like?" Grabbing a pen and paper I quickly drafted a sketch depicting what had been floating around my head since the turn of the year. And so it began.

Year first entered 2017
