Shack Attack

More than £500

The first bit was built from recycled materials. I had a mad idea of building it and staying through the winter as if I had scrummaged around on a deserted island, instead of waiting to see what washed on shore I trawled locally.
It gives me quiet and peace from the outside world, it gives a good night's sleep.

There was no plan on paper nor any real craftsmanship. It just evolved over time and held together with bent nails and late night or early morning ideas. It is what it is and it makes me smile and gives a kind of peace and calm to my visitors. I work as an Arborist and feel close to nature, so I have surrounded the shack with various habitats a pond, an orchard, log piles, rough pasture and various plants. I can sit inside and view the outside through one way glass, watch nature undisturbed or sit outside in my outdoor kitchen and listen. For me it is like my very own nature reserve. To put something back and ground myself. There are some cracking entries this year and I wish them all the best of luck..
