. Built with Ferguson tractor theme. All fittings are homemade with second hand tractor parts etc. Full size snooker table, dart board and bar
Having owned and enjoyed a snooker table for quite a few years, it was a sad day when we had to dismantle it and place it into storage - the table was always in an upstairs room over the workshop. When I decided to retire the workshop was let out to another company and the table had to go. After a few years of doing without the table we decided to build a dedicated snooker room (man cave) at the bottom of our garden.
I have had a great deal of help from family and freinds along the way. We have tried to use second hand or re-cycled materials as much as possible in the build. The steelwork and a great deal of the insulation came from a supermarket demolition. It has underfloor oil heating, the boiler and 700 litres of oil came from a local family converting to gas. The internal furniture is all homemade and 90% old Massey Ferguson tractor bits and pieces. The bar stools are trumpet housings and fergy seat pans with old footrests and clutch pedals used for the steps. The wheel table is an old rear rim, half shaft and wheel centre. The small drinks table is a flywheel and crankshaft assembly. The table lamps are made up of various used gearbox bits. The dart board lights are MF 35 tractor headlights converted to led and mounted on an old radius arm end. The bar is made up of a transmission case, front axle casting and a bonnet, with the last orders bell coming from a fergy potato planter. The ceiling lights are a Massey Ferguson 290 tractor grill converted to led, while the wall lights are fuel delivery pipe nozzles.
The real ale is from a local farm which has diversified into brewing. Most of the ales from (Farmyard Ales) have a name connected to agriculture, hence the 'TVO' on the beer pump!
Its all been a lot of work but also a lot of fun seeing all the ideas come together. The room seems very popular with freinds and family which makes it all very worthwhile.
