Multi purpose Den, Sanctuary and workshop / Motorbike store. Love this shed, It has 2 sides, His and Hers.
'His' being the raw timber and strong finish flooring, housing tools and motorbikes, home made wine and 'stuff'. Heated by the stainless steel chimney stack that elegantly passes through from the other side, and up and out of the roof.
'Hers' houses a wood burner with copper surround, reflecting a warm coppery hue and heat back into the room. Sofa bed, table and 2 chairs, internet connection and many books. An oak shelf for storage up in the eves. A sanctuary for contemplation, meditation and study. And sleep, during this period of lockdown.
Low carbon footprint, locally sourced materials and partially recycled doors and windows.
Strong and Rustic. The idiosyncrasies and imperfections adding to the character and presence.
Built on a metal frame base, perched upon concrete bollards, created using plastic bins as moulds.
This shed can be lifted and moved if necessary.
English Oak frame with traditional pegged mortice and tenon. Traditional symbols for assembly. And a 'topping out' ceremony on completion. The wood-burner is a recent addition, resting on stone tiles with wooden surround.
