    Shed Features

This shed mimics a traditional barn design, typically seen in older agricultural yards in this area. It uses black timber feather edge with original Cambridge gault pan tiles from 1850 on the roof (v. expensive, reclaimed!). I designed and built the shed myself from scratch, after building my own house. It incorporates a one tonne log store for my stove, bike and tool storage as well as 4.5m of workbench space for wood working. Its bigger on the inside than the outside! I decided to leave the main ridge beam hanging out at the front, and shaped it so that I could hang the original scaffolding pulley wheel that I used to haul materials up to the roof when I was building the house.

    Other Shed info

Reinforced mesh concrete floor, 5 inches thick for splitting logs up to 70cm diameter! Took me about 4 months to builds, just working in the evenings on it. Probably cost me around £1200 for materials- all the labour was free (myself!).
