My shed is specially designed for myself and my 3 young boys to chill, play and enjoy. It is a real 'boys' den, with settee, bookcase laden with toys and books, fully working hornby trainset, PC, portable TV, games and life-size cut-out of Lara Croft! It also indulges my display of plates featuring WW2 fighter planes, which the wife won't let in the house. On the gadgets front there are the old favourites - lava lamp, supersized blow-up football and disco ball. In addition, there is an outside decking area for those warm sunny days where we relax with our cold drinks.
I am by no means a builder, but I designed my shed myself whilst lying on a beach, bought all the wood from a local wood merchants and built it in my spare time. There was no plan to the shed, I built it to my own design as I went along. I installed insulation, a recyled patio door as a window, guttering, electricity, wall lights and electric sockets. The garden is on a slope so to make maximum usage of the shed, I built a large fenced decking area, off the front of the shed, with an under- decking storage area.
