This is a 'green' building designed in keeping with the local architectural style. I adapted it from an existing, dilapidated, garage to minimise material use and wasteage, and used larch from a locally managed forest combined with reclaimed materials obtained from an architectural salvage yard. It has been divided into 4 areas, to create space for storage, space for tools and machinery and space to work. When I can afford it, I intend to add a sedum roof.
My son named it 'The Golden Temple' because the larch appears to glow when the sun shines on the front. It has only just been completed so we have not yet kitted out the inside. It will be used, by myself and my sons as a woodworking workshop.
