This damp old shed was inherited with our house. My generous husband wanted to demolish it and buy me a brand new one! (Shudder!) After MUCH persuasion, he agreed to let me replace the leaking felt roof with old corrugated tin. Following the success of my tin roof with 'pear' finials, I was allowed to carry on with my plan to rescue, restore & recyle. The north side has been equipped with old cast iron guttering on which old clay pots are stored in handy rows. Inside; all furniture including the desk, chairs and work bench have all been inherited, begged or thrown out by some one else. Curtain poles are made out of old broom handles, curtains: recycled and rugs were scrounged!. The window frames in the door are made out of tupperware lids. It's a proper girlie shed full of childhood memorabilia, books, old rosettes and all the sort of stuff you wouldn't dare keep in the house! This year - 2012, its surrounding have had a bit of a re-vamp but apart from a new(old)table and chair, the inside remains just the same. It's used for crafts, hobbies, making, mending, retreating and occasionally escaping!
This simple shed has electricity with an old extractor fan, a heater & music, The views are spectacular as they look across towards the Teme valley over acres and acres of Bulmer's cider apple orchards - all in bloom right now!
