    Shed Features

In 2009 the Disco Shed mk1 (conceived in 2005, created in 2006) made the Shed Of The Year final. Owners Paddy Bickerton and Aidan Larkin were riding the crest of a wave of festival popularity back then - using their customised, caravan-chassis mounted pre-fab 8'x6' Billy-Oh to spread something called 'Shedonism' across the land.

However even as their bubble was being burst and Shed Of The Year judge Chris Evans delivered his shocking and damning assertion that (gasp!) the Disco Shed wasn't a shed, or even in fact the greatest outhouse since three wise men followed a wandering star to a manger, the truth was there for all to see. Disco Shed mk1 was falling apart.

No amount of gaffer tape or cable ties was going to see the pair or their army of Shedonists through another season. The pair regrouped in their Secret Cotswold Hideaway and, frankly, drank and argued a lot.

Then it came to them. They would not only build a new Disco Shed (using vastly better quality materials and a chassis that didn't drag along the road when towed uphill), but they would ask someone who knew what they were doing to help. And lo, Aidan remembered that his old man was a chippie, and a darn good one. A phone call and a Ryanair flight later and Thomas 'Junior' Larkin arrived from Galway, bringing an all-new level of professionalism to the operation, and (for the first time) a measuring tape.

Disco Shed mk2 was born. Slimmer, taller, happier, better constructed. The scourge of Oxford City Council noise-prevention officers would ride once more.

And ride it has - bringing Shedonism to the masses in all weather at Latitude, Bestival, T In The Park, Big Chill, Bearded Theory, Camp Bestival, Reading, Leeds, Shambala and countless other summer events.

Far more dangerous than either house or garage; so street it's off-road and round the back. Complete with DJ decks, lights, The World Famous Disco Shed Inferno Smoke Machine (TM), giant rooftop visuals, DJs, a record sleeve lined roof, DIY and bad jokes the chaps have been busy spreading the love of Shed all over the land.

Have Gnomes, Will Travel. Coming soon to a field near you.
