Our shed was orginally designed for my wife to study in and for myself to have a place to work from home. Whether it's a cold rainy day and your sat toastie in front of the fire, or the sun is shining and the fresh breeze is blowing through. The shed has become a place of retreat for all members of the family. By day, working at the desk the view out across the valley can be an inspiration or a distraction. With full bathroom, kettle, fridge, internet acess and radio 4, you don't need to go anywhere. By night the space tranforms into an ideal place for teenage sons to hang out with their mates. With a large double bed up on the mezzanine "the shed" is ideal for sleep-overs.
We designed the shed to our own liking rather than a kit. It 5m by 5m and just under 4m's tall. It's a simple wooden frame, with thermal insulation, a weather proof membrane and cladding. It has electricity, water and heating through radiators or a wood burner. Sat on a large sun deck "the shed" can be a tranquil retreat or host a great summer evening party.
