We know our shed is at least 64 years old because it was a wedding present for my parents! Trigger's Broom has somehow emerged a complete contrast to our dark, spooky old house ... a riot of vintage and flowers. It's toasty warm in the winter and in the summer its a brilliant tea room, with a cooker and fridge (plus two full-side beds for overflow accommodation). Overlooking the fish pond as it does, its just the best place for wasting time all year round and family and is a focal point of our notorious summer parties ...
Our shed has been moved twice by putting long scaffold poles over the spikes of a large hay-bale tractor; we were so nervous to see it 15' in the air that we filmed the whole thing - if we lost the shed, at least we could try 'You've Been Framed'! Its had an insulated wood-lining, new roofing felt and an extra layer of upside-down shiplap on the outside - the only way we could make the timbers fit together (fans of Delboy and Rodney will know why it's called Trigger's Broom). The furniture came from our old caravan when it had to be scrapped after our old pony scratched her bum against it a bit too hard - it was simple to unbolt it and re-fit in its new home and we added mains electrics at the same time. Next project is mains water and drainage. Its currently painted in Cuprinol Seagrass and Forget-me-not, with our own mix of pink for the gloss work.
