Inspired by the 'Tiny House' movement that has it's roots in the USA, the Trailhouse is a beautifully styled tiny home / shed mounted on a purpose built galvanized trailer. It now offers UK buyers a truly mobile solution for either extended living space to an existing home or a standalone building for a garden or outside space.
The high build specification provides a totally livable environment on a minimal scale better than many modern houses and one that will retain it's value for many years. The unit can be towed to any suitable site with ease. These compact units provide an excellent separate dwelling for guests, an office, studio or a starter home for that teenager that needs the first step towards independence.
Tony and Diane Statham are a husband and wife team who have worked together for the past 25 years. Both have come from an art background with skill sets including illustration, painting, graphic design, sign writing and scenic art as well as craft skills such as carpentry and textiles. They have worked extensively in the film and TV industry as well as theatre and advertising. They have two daughters both in their twenties. Back in 2009 when looking at options for housing it became clear that like many young people their daughters would find it very hard to get on the housing ladder and if that was impossible they would be forced into the rented sector and be at the mercy of poor housing for extortionate rents. Whilst researching smaller housing options like motorhomes, caravans and mobile homes they discovered the Tiny House movement that was prevalent in the USA and to some extent elsewhere. These humble but stylish trailer homes were to inspire them to build the Trailhouse and bring an example of the concept to the UK for people to see for themselves.
