It's a tea themed/vintage themed crafting shed ... A place where I can relax, get away from the chaos that is our family, inspired by my love if tea and vintage with teacups as storage pots and tea themed tins etc. Full of pretty things and a vintage chair and display cabinet and a small fold down table to work at.It started way back when I watched Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year on TV. I asked hubby if I could have a shed .. he said no of course but a few weeks later he told me there was a shed in the rafters of the wood store at work. It had been there ages and it was covered in pigeon poo from years of pigeons roosting there (No pictures of that unfortunately). We could have it for £50 .. I said yes and the rest is history.This year I decided to give my little tea shed a makeover, inside first then outside and I have allowed myself to get quite carried away .. it's still the Vintage Tea Shed but with a more dramatic look to match my finding myself again physically and mentally after lockdown (the first lockdown was fab but the following two took their toll on me).
It cost £50 from my hubby's work place having been stuck in the rafters of the wood store and was covered in pigeon poo ... It took a bit of cleaning ... Everything inside came from charity or second hand shops or my own collection. She was cream and pale pink up until this year but she was looking a little tired so I decided on a makeover in January .. I guess you could say it was a reflection of me coming out of lockdown and to be fair it wasn't a nice experience for me. I am finding my voice and soul again and certainly my creative vibes. I joined an online art group during lockdown and I rekindled my passion for art and painting so I thought that I would use my creative streak to revamp my shed. I have used Cuprnol Sweet Sundae as the base colour with a hint of white. The window is highlighted by a gold picture frame I had lying around at home and just happened to be the right size. Inside is also pink and the flower patterned roof is actually paper serviettes decoupaged onto the wood roof panels. The beams are black gloss from a tin I had leftover in the garage. The vintage lamp shades that hang from the ceiling are charity shop finds. The flowers that adorn the front were a gift from my sister. Other bits are charity shop or junk shop finds or pieces from my own collection.And did I mention it has electric and a heater so I can use it all year round.
