The shed was started after completing an evening course in repairing and restoring guitars. The design and shape was based on re-use and recycling materials and fixtures that were to hand. The shed started life as a cold frame with a small brick surround with a timber and polythene top to protect my seedlings. After a greenhouse was purchased the redundant cold frame was made into a double compost surround with block walls a metre high on 3 sides. This composting was then moved to a more discreet part of the garden and the shed started. The walls were extended and a simple roof made. The walls are strapped and lined with traditional weatherboarding and treated with Cuprinol.
The walls/ Floor and ceiling are all insulted to keep my tools and machinery dry in the winter. Various stringed instruments have been completed in my little shed.
