The shed is a multifunctional space used for sewing and relaxing. It houses my fabric collection and my sewing paraphernalia and affords me a quiet space to sew and create away from the family.
I have also managed to squeeze in a dolls house as I love working on miniatures. Due to the pandemic and having to work from home, it has now become my office too. It has been a blessing to be able trot down to the bottom of the garden and work in such a vibrant, cosy space. My partner also has to work from home, he comes into the shed for a break at lunchtime! The sunshine hits the shed late afternoon so it's great for lounging at the weekends
My budget didn't stretch to a purpose built summer house so I bought a shed with windows and had some custom additions. I added double glazing, insulation and had the exterior stained with Cuprinol Ash Black. We already had electric so plug sockets and lighting were installed and I have a WiFi extender from the house. There is an oil filled electric radiator with a timer so the shed is warm and ready for the day. I have a pink interior wall and the contrast with the Ash Black interior is really striking when the sun is shining onto the shed
