This has been a great little spot to have a coffee on a morning before walking the dogs during lock down. The idea started as a more traditional cabin with doors on, but I decided that if I could shut the doors I would soon fill it up with junk! So the open plan design with just a seat was where I took it. This was a DIY project and took a good few months to get finished, an enjoyable experience, although I didn't enjoy being on the roof too much!
A friend knocked down an old lean too and the glass sizes helped define the design. I found some larch planks at the local saw mill for the cladding and they supplied cut down sleepers for the posts. Roof timber and decking and sleeper steps were from the local builders merchant. Most useful thing was finding a website that did all the calculation for the hip roof. It was a free website, but they are affiliated to a charity if you find it a useful resource suggest a donation.I added an "extension" during lockdown to house a water butt and somewhere to keep some logs and a bit more junk!
