    Shed Features

Tad a mab started its life following the demolition of the old coal house and outside loo (which we were using for storage at the time) The plot of land was unusual in shape and after pondering over a few designs I sketched a small picture for a 5 sided shed. ( no measurements) We were landscaping the garden at the time making way for the planned extension of the house and had supplies left over after the construction of the retaining wall. We had also dug out a tremendous amount of natural stone from the garden that was just so beautiful we had to save it. Tad and Mab is welsh for Father & Son. It pays homage to its makers and has a rich welsh heritage boasting a reclaimed red welsh slate roof, a rescued stain glass window, a hand made weathervane and not forgetting the stone cladding from the very ground it sits upon. It is constructed using 90% + of recycled or reclaimed materials and was lovingly built by mainly myself and my father Robert. Needless to say we had a few other helping hands along the journey including my father in law, my wife and on occasions family friends. It has gained many fans and been compared to hagrids hut from Harry Potter and even to Tolkiens hobbit houses. It still is and has been an ongoing labour of love for us. We have the delivery men asking what it is? And even taking photos to show others!! We have the regular visitor which we are more than happy to show around and have even been asked if we would be happy if they brought other members of the family back at a later date to view the Shed We love it intrigues some but also brings a smile to so many peoples faces!

    Other Shed info

Its a privilege to own and have such a wonderful space to dream and create. The shed is mainly used as a workshop to build more creations including lamps, bird houses, marquee light letters, a fire surround, shelving and even the Juliet balcony for our home. It is an invaluable space that allows creativity to breath. We love it. In the darkest place shed the brightest light!
