This shed is 8"6 high, base is 9"6' by 5"6' and is 98% recycled (by weight). It is made from old scaffolding planks, with a floor made of pallets, chipboard and lino (all recyled). The roof is half toughened glass, (thanks to freecycle for that!) Being in Chester the medieval look represents our history, it also amuses my children.
Built flat, it was a 2 man job to assemble and is so very sturdy that even a huricane would not scratch it! Most scaffolders have scrap planks that costs them to send to landfill, so are sometimes happy to give them away. This shed took around 50 planks to make. Total cost (including paint, roofing felt and big screws!) about Sixty pounds. Shelves recently added - again from scaffolding planks...is there anything they can't be used for!!
