    Shed Features

Its a good example of re-using an old shed to create a hybrid of storage and a place to relax and entertain friends, in what is a small terraced house back yard.

    Other Shed info

I started off with a plain 8ft x 6ft brown wooden shed in the back garden of our terraced house. So I turned it around, fixed the electrics and painted it blue. I then took out the existing windows, cut a hole in the middle and put in double doors, a small side window and added guttering. The internal space was then divided in two with the construction of a partition wall faced with hardboard. This was to create a small area for tool storage on one side (my side of the shed!), leaving the rest for use as a chill-out space. In the tool storage area Ive put up a few shelves and plenty of hooks for various bits and pieces. In the chill-out area I faced the rear wall with hardboard and we (me and my girlfriend Emily) wallpapered over that and the partition wall. The other internal surfaces were painted with white wood paint. I then added a shelf and fitted some hooks to the hang garden chairs. To finish it off weve put in a small wicker ottoman that was salvaged from the tip and a garden bench which is covered in a Welsh blanket and cushions. Weve put some pictures up on the wall, added some ceiling lights and also put in an old theatre stage lamp that I re-wired. I hope you like it!
