Inspired by Antonio Gaudi and the Russian architect, Gavril Baranovsky. Started with a clay mode from which scale drawings were made. The style was art nouveau; so no right angles. I made the 7 windows in my workshop 30 metres away (another shed which I built 30 years ago) This took about 11 months.I worked though the winter with brickwork etc, then prefabricated the roof beams from 18mm plywood sheets. The timber for roof laths and window frames I purloined from skips: the roof tiles I begged from Topps Tiles, the wall tiles were formerly my next door neighbour's roof!
In all it took about 2 years to complete. The initial budget was £5,000 which included electrics, furniture, all the stained glass and tiles. The final total was £4,800! Construction photographs on www.flickr.com/people/5078094@NO3/ OR Google Russian John
