    Shed Features

The shed is 1/3rd scale model of the first house I ever bought when I was 19 years old. It was an old slate workers cottage on the island of Seil, which is situated 20 miles south of Oban, Argyll on the west coast of Scotland.

    Other Shed info

The shed is constructed of an assortment of local stone which I quarried from a nearby field. Much of the stone had to be shaped and cut by hand. The roof slates were salvaged from my mothers house after she had part of her old roof blown off in a gale. I re-cut and dressed each slate before attaching them to the roof in the traditional manner. The chimney is fully functional and there is a working wood burning stove inside the shed. It is lit at night by some original brass paraffin lamps inside, which all adds to the authentic feel of the "cottage" The whole build project took me less than 4 months to complete. The shed is used as a secure store for chainsaws, mowers and strimmers (and also for relaxing in after a hard day's work.)
