Converted from an existing shed when I set up my own practice in 2005, I carried out the joinery myself including making the door and window. At 1.9x2.5m, the studio may be the smallest free- standing Architect's office in Britain.
The colour scheme is based on Norwegian houses as Orkney was part of Scandinavia until 1468.
The curved ceiling is a practical and pleasing solution to limited headroom. The shed is fully insulated and has timber trunking for data wiring and power supplies.
