Coombe Hill's shed was bought and built by the teachers and the PTA to serve as an outdoor classroom. It was built to give children a alternative classroom space where they could learn in small groups, have some quite time away from the bigger playround mele and engage in outdoor nature activities and planting as it's now surrounded by raised beds and a sensory garden. Each year it is also the site for apple pressing day - where each class and each child gets a chance to press apples and make their own apple juice. The get to taste it and what's left is bottled and sold to parents to raise funds for SENCO class resources for the school.
