The challenging client brief and the ability to meet and even exceed their expectations. The requirements were for a fully fitted, high specification garden office to accommodate two reasonable sized work tops and a considerable amount of filing and storage capacity, to include archive and easily/regularly retrievable suspended filing systems for both occupants working at the same time within a very limited space. The only space available was bounded on all four sides by either stone and brick walls or immovable wooden boundary fencing leaving a space of only 5.0M x 2.6M. In order to maximise the internal floor space and enable the furniture plan to fit the building had to be made to exacting tolerances and to fit like a glove, which I am pleased to say it did.
While this contemporary Garden office would be considered by most attractive looking but possibly unremarkable in external appearance, it is the "Total package" that differentiates it from similar looking buildings.
We should not lose sight of the fact that this is ultimately a working office where space efficiency, accessability, user comfort and functionality are far more important issues than the visual appearance alone.
