The aptly named Meat Shed could easily been called The Tardis, as when you step inside it is deceivingly big, boasting a large delicatessen counter,a butchery counter and a good selection of groceries.
It is jointly planned, created, owned and ran by both my wife Diane and myself. The village was in need of a butchers/deli and we were more than happy to help. It took almost a year dealing with planning, utilities (there wasn't any water or electricity) and environmental health etc, also a lot of hard work from me, Diane and my son Oliver who did the building work before we were able to open. We have managed to create a laid back friendly shop whilst at the same time helping to keep the local community alive.
