What makes our shed special is, it is a community shed for retired men over 55yrs to meet and share life skills. There is a shed movement in the UK which started in Australia. Our Shed was formed in 2013 and we now have 130 members and growing. We have a old porta cabin donated by the college which we soon out grew and is now solely used as our workshop.We purchased another porta cabin as a tea and meeting room which we also outgrew, and we were then donated a steel restroom from a local building site which we have adapted for our needs I know they are not sheds, but they provide a shed to men who cannot for what ever reason have a shed of their own. The Gosport Shed provides for some of our members a place for retired men who are on their own giving them a reason to get out of the house and stop them getting lonely and depressed.
We have 3 buildings at the moment but might be building more. Our Shed is a great place for men and I am sure just a mention on your programme will go a long way in promoting the Shed Movement nationwide
