We operate our traditional rowing boat service across the river Blyth from Southwold to Walberswick. There has been a ferry crossing here since 1236 and I am fifth generation of my family to operate the service.
Our hut is full of memories of our family and ferrymen and is a place for everyone to stop and chat.
The ferry hut has over the years been made from whatever materials have been available.
It stands on earthenware pipes and most of the wood has been made of reclaimed materials.
Simple shed on stilts so it doesn't flood, you can see my shed at www.walberswickferry.com
