We built our al fresco shower shed for guests using our glamping boat, set on the hillside of our Devon cider orchard. We used a traditional shed to create a dry changing area, with bench, hooks and duckboard, but step through the shower curtain and you find yourself in the fresh air, with views across the valley to Exmoor. With an extra-large shower tray and plenty of hot water (gas-powered), the whole family can even fit in at once! The hazel shower screen gives plenty of privacy and fits in with the natural surroundings.
We wanted to build our outdoor shower in a sustainable way, so although the shed itself is new, the shower tray is second hand, and the enclosure was built from hazel offcuts from hedge-laying around the orchard. Even the bench is made from second-hand decking. We have grown roses up the side of the shower and kept woodchip on the floor for a really natural feel. Our chickens love it!
