The Command Centre is My Dads workshop where he has an incredible ham radio set up, he has been chatting over the airways for decades but made it his mission to keep in contact with fellow radio amateurs specifically across lockdowns as this is a demographic that may have felt isolated and needed to shield. My Dad has a background in electrical engineering and is well known in our locality as the man who can fix the unfixable! So he uses this space to help others and repairs all manner of things that people bring to his door including drones, sound systems and the motor for the curtain at the local crematorium! He is always happy to accept a challenge! The best feature of this shed is that it keeps all of his equipment out of the house, much to the joy of my Mum! It also has 15 solar panels on the roof feeding a bank of batteries, currently running the hot water tank all year round and will soon run the elecricity supply of my parents bungalow and their car.
The Command Centre is 51ft by 12ft, The whole family were involved in building the base, there was a lot of wheel barrowing of supplies, we have our own cement mixer and 4 wheel barrows! We have had the odd game of marbles in it too!
