Relaxing room in the garden fully insulated floor, sides and ceiling for all year round use. The Lodge was hand made as a one off build from flat wood thick roof joists all supplied by a local wood merchant and a water tight rubber roof completed a weather tight seal to enjoy for years to come. Having searched the internet for a cost saving outer weather protection for the porch area as wind and rain restricted it's use I found an ideal caravan awning and with some careful planning the roof of the awning cut up to make a roll up door and infill panels allowing the zip out windows to fit as if it was a purpose made canopy cover. Now the outside area is dual purpose adding to the all year round enjoyment. Colours used were :- exterior cuprinol urban slate, and interior stone selected From the 6 year preservative range. It took four coats and a base primer to give the interior OSB boards a fantastic and durable look. The total self design and build cost saved thousands of pounds compared to buying a completed unit. I would advise anyone wanting to attempt a garden Room to have a go the rewards are there to be seen.
