    Shed Features

The Lodge is a gathering place for family and friends to hang out, with comfortable seating, lighting and a bar that encourages social interaction and relaxation.

    Other Shed info

The Lodge was born out of lockdown in winter 2021 as I wanted a project....and a space to go to for social reasons. We were locked out of pubs and restaurants, so I wanted somewhere to go. We are on the edge of Bray Head (a large hill) and have some spectacular views of the Dublin mountains as well as the Sea/coastline. The ideal position was at the back of the garden, as high up as we could get to maximise views. Due to the position and difficult access, we opted not to go for a concrete base. Instead, we used ground screws to provide the foundations. These also helped with creating a level base as the slope on the hill side was considerable and would have needed alot of concrete, which isn't "green" nowadays.. Everything inside was handbuilt from left over shed packaging (pallet wood) where possible including the bar and sofa. Full build photos here available.Videos in the making, including full timelapse of the build.
