It's my little piece of Palm Springs at the top of my garden. I write and draw in it, and invite friends round and we just sit in it, have a chat and a cup of tea.
My late husband built it for me as I'd always wanted a Summerhouse, but he sadly passed away before it got finished.
It slowly deteriorated and I hated seeing it, as it made me sad because it reminded me of him, so I covered it in taupaulin to try and tried to forget it was there. The months and years followed and I was thinking of having it pulled down, then a friend put me in touch with someone that could help me finish it.
He was a handy man and interior designer, and gave it a completely new look. I found a pair of old charity shop curtains which he made into a beautiful padded back rest and leopard print wallpaper. I wanted it to resemble a 1950s boudoir. Recently I had it repainted with new lockable doors and electricity, I now love it and my late husband would be so happy it's finally finished!
