The Pavilion came about because we open our garden a few days each year for the National Garden Scheme and thought it would be handy to have a covered area from where we could serve tea and cake. The idea went from possibly a covered pergola to a mock Tudor Cricket Pavilion, as you can see we had a lot of fun with the design and decor, including players benches, cricket ball finials and scoreboard. We have also used the space to display photos of other projects around the garden. We are really looking forward to welcoming garden visitors, in the meantime it’s a favourite cup of tea spot!
We built the shed from scratch on to a concrete base in autumn 2022, the finishing touches completed in April 2023. We had a lot of help from my Dad who’s a retired joiner and such a big help both with inspiration and practical advice. We had electricity installed by a professional so we can keep the tea urn boiling!
