    Shed Features

This is where I make furniture and anything else that can be made of wood (especially toys for my grandchildren) after taking up serious woodwork at the age of 62, four years ago. It’s a fully equipped workshop with lots of machinery such as a table saw etc. But I also wanted it to be an attractive addition to the garden so I decorated the shed on the outside with stencils.

    Other Shed info

I had professional help to put together the framework and for the electrics but I did all the flooring, insulation and plywood lining, and made the shelving and benches myself often using scrap or recycled materials.

I don’t only use it for woodwork- it also acts as the control centre for our house and barn - I do all the painting, wallpapering, running repairs, curtain making etc etc myself so the shed proves invaluable. As would more Cuprinol products - I swear by their 5* Wood Treatment amongst other things!

We also keep chickens and goats so many a pallet and worn-out scaffold board has been transformed into animal housing.

Some of the furniture that I made for my son's Dan’s Barbershop. I was coming to the end of an advanced woodworking course just as the first Covid lockdown started. I managed to get the wood delivered the day before lockdown and making that furniture kept me occupied and sane during that most difficult of times.

It’s truly not just an invaluable hub for creativity and maintenance but also my happy place!
