    Shed Features

In 2022 I had new double glazing fitted to my house. As the old windows came out I made a rash decision to save and re-use as much of the glass as possible! I had a leak in my shed roof, so the solution seemed obvious- I just needed to build a mostly glass walled shed/summerhouse/workshop/potting shed/bar! Using some very basic skills and cheap or borrowed tools I set to work in April 2023 with no fancy plans, just a pile of wood, some knackered glass, and plenty of screws. It's still a work in progress- this year I'll be adding a living roof, and building hidden tool storage/ internal furniture. I made the choice before starting to film my diy experiment for youtube, and it went a little bit viral for a while, gaining 425000 views! More importantly, I gained some cool interactions with people all over the world- it turns out everybody loves a shed!

    Other Shed info

The shed was built single handed (Although technically I used both hands) and the initial build took from April to September 2023. After a break I went back to working on the interior. I added smart lights, and smart sockets to allow me to monitor and control heating and cooling of the space. I also added a semi-floating heavy duty shelf for timber storage. From before day 1 the idea was to have a living roof, and this will be added soon. This will hopefully make the bees happy (they swarmed the shed twice during building, its like they know what's coming...)
