Our shed isn't particularly impressive in size, cost, or features - we're first- time home buyers who have had to make do with what we've got, and I'm very proud of what we've managed to achieve with that. I'm an electronics engineer currently working in radiation detection, and I repair vintage electronics in my spare time, as well as electrical and electronic goods for friends, family, and patrons of the repair cafe that I volunteer at - this means that it is very important for me to have a suitable space to work. We've managed to convert the small shed (roughly 3m x 1.23) that was in the garden of our first house into a practical and well- equipped electronics and mechanical workshop on a limited budget, including insulation, boarding lighting and electrics, workbenches, and shelving for storage.
Alongside this, we're still able to use it for all of the general day-to-day stuff that we need, for things like our lawnmower and tumble dryer. I've decorated it with various industrial signs that I've acquired over the years, including some from Redcar Blast Furnace (where I worked before it closed in 2015). I've spent the past few years equipping it with the various tools, components, and consumables that I might need for repairs, neatly organised and stored for easy access.
My website has a lot of articles about the work I've been up to in my shed.
