Shed of the year 2010 has been announced

Shedtype: [Eco Shed]

Features: This is a 6m x 3x wooden shed built using the Walter Segal design method. Wood from an estate near Berwick was selected; larch, douglas fir and spruce and cut to size. This was then bolted together and raised, with joists and purlins following. I put on a green roof using the following layers: membrane, buytl liner, carpet, lytag for drainage, liner, soil and then put plants and seed. Windows were saved from a skip and the walls were OSB sterling board inside and wany edge douglas fir on the outside. I made a door out of the douglas fir.

Additional Info: I am very pleased with the end result as it just what I wanted and it looks very 'cute'

Thanks for the inspiration Ken. I was thinking of doing the same thing this spring. Could I ask roughly how much this cost you to make? Regards, Daniel Kronenberg

V. inspired as I am also building a Segal style shed 3.6 x 6m in East Lothian using 2nd hand metal insulated panels. I like the waney edge cladding & will use something similar. I am planning a sleeping loft so it will really be a shed & a half
